WOYWW - 21st April

Alright - own up - who stole the week?  I know a lot of you will be saying this, but ITS WEDNESDAY ALREADY!!!!
If he were alive - i'd have to get Arthur C Clarke on to it - or maybe Prof. Stephen Hawking... anyway somethings happening to our weeks and its a complete mystery to me where they go LOL!!!

Well last night this was the devistation that was my desk

EEK!!!!  Anyway - it got that I couldn't think straight with the mess so I set about tidying up... I was in a fair bit of discomfort - but it had to be done.  I'd been working on the laptop to the right of the desk with a TV table at 90 degrees to the desk - basically with my back to the kitchen - and facing the tv and garden.

This is how it looked this morning:

Another view

A couple of things to mention on the desk...

The tins - been there ages - intend to decorate them up to match and put pens/tools in.

The mug tree - that Crafty Linby noticed last week - holding my rolls of double sided tape (which I buy at 10 rolls for £1 - yeh I know - bargain)!!!!  Couple of other sized tape on too and some ribbon.  Saves me ferriting about in the basket anyway.
Jane Doe - out of harms reach from the Dylan monster =)

The funny looking pink and lilac thing on my printer is some felting that I sewed - my first effort of actually making something (since school) and inspired by Wipso sending me that sewing ideas stash a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway - i've had some new stash this week -

2 new MS punches (I have two more on order that I placed last week from another retailer that STILL haven't turned up, and if they don't today - there's gonna be words LOL... and the stamps are by Kanban, bought from QVC last week - aren't they great - I can envisage some great cards with these.  I was disappointed with the TSV they had - well, it wasn't for me anyway.

Then this came yesterday - bought at the same time as the stamps

This is a Kanban decoupage kit - Patchwork Pals.  I'm not one for kits as I feel that I've cheated a bit (another guilt trip) but sometimes when the idea isn't happening by you need a (quickish) card I thought these would be good as they are so innoffensive.  Here's one I made yesterday with the kit - this is for a friends daughter who started nursery school in the Mornings on Monday... she was only 3 in February and apparently was really looking forward to going...

Right - thats me this week - if you want to join in - hop to Julia's blog Stamping Ground and add yourself to Mr Linky - then leave a comment for Julia and visit all the other WOYWWers.  This is the best blog hop on the web - no stash or prizes... oh no... better than that - you get to meet new like minded people and make some special friends - I did!!!

I'm going to take it easy today and visit everyone from the comfort of the sofa... quite uncomfortable today again and definately too uncomfortable to craft =(  - bed at 3am again, up at 7.30 - may take a nap in between visits but I'll do my best to get round everyone - i was still making visits on Monday - some of you had posted after I thought I'd finished - but I still managed to fit them in and leave a comment - if I didn't - SOZ!!! It wasn't intentional.

Big hugs to you all and thanks for visiting and leaving a comment...

Paula

  3. Are you over doing it? Its great that you get around everyone at all - so only do it in comfort gal - snoozing is the law for recuperators like you. Iknow what you mean about the desk situation - after a while you can bear it no more and the tidying just has to be done.
YOur Mr Linky link is broken- I'll check back later see ifyou've corrected it - if not, I'll re-so it.

  4. Hi Paula.
Sorry to hear you are feeling uncomfortable. I hope you manage to get a nap today as it sounds like you need to catch up on some sleep.
I love your new stamps. They look like they will be really useful, especially for those difficult cards for men.

  8. Take care today, Paula, just have a "sofa day" and hopefully you'll feel a bit better tomorrow. Your desk looks great - I love that the coffee mug is taking up the very last bit of space on your craft mat - reminds me of another desk not so far from where I'm sitting....

  10. You most definately need a sofa day after tidying up, but I understand that sometimes it drives you so mad you have to do it and bugger the consequences.
    Take care xxxx

  24. I finally found your blog. I had trouble with the link, but just kept deleting things till I got here! Wow, you have some lovely new stash. Those stamps are very sweet. Love the travel theme it suggests, too.

I am in awe of your tape storage unit. I always love it when I see new and unique storage ideas.

Have a fun and happy WOYWW.

  28. Tape storage unit I like lots-had been considering a mug tree for storage potential. For a relative newbie to paper crafting you are building up the stash girl. Spooky that you have the tins as I see Julia is suggesting we do a sort of anniversary challenge. The bags? well I did a lot once for a display in a craft shop and that's what happened. The colour scheme? all down to Sue Taylor, Julie Hickey and the rest of the gang at Craftwork Cards.Stay tuned and I might use some of my Stampin Up stash or dig into my back catalogue or get out the big boys. Pity you have to go to work but we can't all be retired and living in Crafty Heaven. Hugs BettyXXX

  30. Morning Paula,

You should be pleased to know that I was thinking of you this morning - I posted that Tsunami pic on my blog FIRST just so you would not feel disappointed and boycott my blog next week, lol! :-)

I love the miracle you worked on your desk, although, if truth be told, I can't decide whether I feel better when I visit and see everyone else's devasation (so I don't feel so bad wallowing in my own mess during those crazy periods) or if I am more inspired by the neatness!

HAve a great day! I think I am going to have to post an in-between WOYWW essay soon on Legend though. He has been rather rompy and stompy as of late with what I call his new "terror toy". By the way, his birthday is just a few weeks away too, so you know what that means! :-)

  37. Hi Paula, Most breeders just put a few sheets of paper together (KC and feeding sheet) but we have always tried to give as much info and help as possible to all our owners. we also stay in touch with about 90% of them and meet up twice a year on the beach for walks (last one 60 owners 40 dogs) I will miss them all so much when they go this weekend But keeping Bella is going to go a long way to helping me manage my empty nest syndrome. 40. I love that sweet card you made from the kit you got, very sweet! I remember Nursery School in England, I think the equivalent here is Pre-school, before Kindergarten- kids have to be at least 5 for Kindergarten. My youngest is almost 4 now, hard to believe I was in school at that age- I think they do more in Nursery School in England than they do in Pre-school here in the States... by the time I was 6 I was reading and writing quite a lot, ahead of the game for the age here (which I credit to Nursery school back in England (we moved when I was 6). Anyhow, I agree with everyone, try to take it easy! :) I know it's tempting to do more, but you know that you pay for it after the fact. I can totally understand about the cluttered work space, I think we all get to the point that we can't think anymore and have to tidy- at least once in a while. That being sad, a workspace like that shows that somebody is crafting! Nothing sadder than an empty workspace (at least one that STAYS empty! ). Good to see your little felt friend up safe too! :)
